LockDown Stabilisation

Lockdown is a polyethylene braid with a tensile strength of 1730N, it has been approved by the FDA for use in acute and chronic* Acromioclavicular joint separation. Lockdown has been in use for over twelve years outside the USA and has a sound clinical heritage to match, indeed it is the first choice for surgeons in many countries worldwide.

Lockdown is an open procedure and has been design to augment reconstruction of the acromioclavicular joint ligaments as a result of separation through injury. The device is available in a variety of lengths to accommodate the differing anatomical features in each patient. Lockdown is luggage tagged around the coracoid process, requiring no large holes, it is passed behind the clavicle and fixed with a small screw and washer to the front of the clavicle, allowing the clavicle to rotate.

Due to the strength of the double braided polyethylene Lockdown, early mobilisation and a
faster recovery may be possible.

** Chronic is 4 weeks or more from injury
